The collaboration between adidas and Continental has already passed its 10-year anniversary. This is a collaboration that has three marathon world records, one Guinnss world record and countless satisfied customers . It is evident that this collaboration works!
The first adidas shoe with a Continental running sole was designed for trail running. Since then, many more models have been added - currently there are more than 250 different models to choose from.
Continental had more than a century of experience working with rubber compounds for tires. After adidas approached them with an offer of cooperation, their development engineers studied which natural and synthetic rubber compounds could increase the athlete's performance - regardless of the weather conditions, temperature or surface on which they run. The resulting soles offer 30% better traction, reduce slippage and allow the runner to run faster.
