FLYTEFOAM™ cushioning foam is 55% lighter than commonly used ethylene vinyl acetate EVA, yet no cushioning is lost in the manufacturing process. The shape of the midsole returns to its original state after each step. Thanks to the added organic fibers, it is characterized by high resistance.

FLYTEFOAM™ is a cushioning midsole foam that is 55% lighter and up to 76% more effective than commonly used ethylene vinyl acetate EVA. However, it does not lose any damping during the manufacturing process. For almost three years, the Asics Institute of Sport Science (ISS) tested more than 300 prototypes, experimenting with different materials from different disciplines to find the perfect solution. And it is FLYTEFOAM™ that offers a combination of light weight and softness while maintaining cushioning. Unlike competing air-filled foam compounds, this one is made of organic fibers with Kevlar admixture. After each step, it is restored to its original shape and part of the energy from the impacts returns back to the foot.
