History of the Salomon brand
Do you know the history of the Salomon brand? We will reveal it to you on the next lines.
The Salomon brand is based in the city of Annecy , located in the French Alps. This company specializes in the production of top sports equipment for skiing, outdoor and running. In 1947, the company was founded by François Salomon together with his wife and son Georges - who then follows in his father's footsteps and continues to run a successful business. In the early days, Salomon mainly focused on the production of skis and ski bindings. In 1979, Salomon launched their first ski boot, the SX90 . Ski bindings and ski boots from Salomon have become the best on the market in just three years.
Since 1984, Salomon has invested 350 million francs in a super-modern, automated plant in Rumilly , Haute-Savoie , to develop the ski segment. Next, the company decided to build a new company headquarters, again in Annecy, but now in the Metz Tessy district. Salomon's turnover will reach EUR 250 million this year alone.
In the spring of 1992, they introduced the Adventure line of hiking boots. These shoes were a huge success, an article in the New York Times wrote about them - " A trip to the future with lighter shoes ". In the same year, Salomon becomes the most successful manufacturer at the Albertville Olympics, providing equipment to legends such as Edgar Grospiron . The Integral ski boot was designed in collaboration with the great champion Ingemar Stenmark .
In 1997, there was a lot going on at Salomon. It markets a full range of snowboard equipment, boots, boards and clothing, all under the Bonfire brand. In the same year, their inline skates also saw the light of day - here, too, the company started from scratch and after two or three years they launched an innovative new product that achieved great success, just like their ski gear before. Salomon is applying its ski culture to the industry, developing brand-new frames to transfer energy from the foot to the wheels, as well as introducing quick lacing. Furthermore, in 1997, Salomon became part of the German manufacturer adidas, which sold it to the Finnish business group Amer Sports in 2005.
2008 - Salomon creates the Skin bag and pioneers the minimalist running gear trend. In 2013, XT-6 shoes were launched - this model is graphically distinctive, originally designed for long-distance trail running. After that, this model surprisingly also broke through in leisure fashion. At the same time, the new patented "My Custom Fit 3D" technology brings a revolution in immediate comfort when wearing shoes. Over time, Salomon has expanded from ski equipment to many other sports.
The company is now the world's leading manufacturer of off-road shoes, clothing, backpacks and accessories. Whether you need shoes for a walk in nature or a run on challenging terrain, their shoes will definitely be a great investment in comfort, quality and durability. This French brand has become one of the best in the business in seventy years, and their shoes are guaranteed to last.
